Kingtronics—Global Semiconductor Market Declines in April

It was the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) that disclosed global semiconductor product sales in April. Their data showed that global semiconductor product sales in April were $34.4 billion.

According to the data disclosed by the SIA, global sales of semiconductor products in April increased by US$2 billion from US$32.4 billion in the same period last year, a year-on-year growth rate of 6.1%; compared with US$34.9 billion in March, it was a decrease of 500 million, fell 1.2% month-on-month.

In terms of countries and regions, sales of semiconductor products in China increased by 2.1% month-on-month in April, but Japan fell by 0.9%, the American market fell by 1.1%, the European market fell by 7.6%, and other markets in Asia Pacific fell by 3.1%.

In terms of year-on-year growth, the American market increased by 24.5%, the Chinese market increased by 4.4%, the other markets in the Asia-Pacific region increased by 3.3%, the Japanese market decreased by 0.1%, and the European market experienced the largest year-on-year decline of 7.1%.

The SIA believes that so far, the damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has not yet had a substantial impact on overall global sales.
